Philly Flavor '05 Images:

The staging point for our adventure, Casa de Evangelista!

One of the faithfull hounds guarding our departure.

This one is strong with the force.

J9 brings energy for the body...

As Mel energizes the soul.

A pretty scene from the wilds of Princeton.

This guy is getting a head start on the day...

Another view of the monument.

Yikes!
There was something strange in the water down there.

Strange and wonderful creatures sped us on our way.

I imagined an 8 story Big Bird striding over the hillside to greet us.

Our first view of the city...

Slightly closer...

And suddenly we're there!

The beauty of the place was overwhelming.

Note the public shower in the background.

So this is the Franklin Institute, or the 'Philly Liberty Science Center' as I like to call it.
It quickly became apparent that Philadelphians have a serious obsession with Benjamin Franklin.

she said she loved my show in paris
at Elysee Montmartre
and that I stepped off the stage...

Mel is in my heart.

This giant pendulum somehow proves that the Earth tilts on it's axis by knocking down pegs over the course of the day.
We just thought it looked cool.

Preparing to board the sex machine I mean air bike.

Riding the bike balanced on a cable 3 stories up.

It kinda looked high when I was up there.

Mel getting ready to...

Ca-Ca-Catch the Wave!

This is how the air bike looked from the ground.

Seriously, you could not go more than 3 minutes without coming accross another reference to Ben Franklin.

If you can't beat em...

Mel Gone
Chill with 'em.

Probably my favorite picture, Mel and the PBS guy.

Memorial for the pilots who died in WWI.

That's our hotel, the Wyndham.

I can't help but think, "we're off to see the Wizard..."

The lovely fountain in the center of Logan Square.

To put it in perspective, here is a little map. The 'Rocky' steps are at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Apparently this fountain gets filled with people on really hot days. And bums bathe there.

But we came only to observe, not get clean.
